Dear students,
Re: Accommodation fornon-local undergraduate students beyond 3rd years of study
Time flies. Very soonyou will enter into your 4th or above year of study at the PolyU. Webelieve that you do enjoy your study as well as your hall life at PolyU. Weconsider hall life an integral part of university life andso we have made special arrangement for all non-local undergraduatestudents studying full-time UGC-funded degree programmes to reside in theStudent Halls during their first 3 years of study.
In view of the severeshortage of hall places and our wish to provide as many students, including thelocal ones, as possible a taste of hall life, we consider it more appropriatefor the non-local students to take care of their accommodation in the 4thyear. This is indeed part of education as the process to identify anappropriate accommodation and to settle in a different community are both goodand valuable learning experiences.
We therefore would liketo remind the non-local students entering their 4th orabove year of study to start planning for their accommodations in theprivate market now. Please rest assured that the University will render fullsupport to you in securing an appropriate accommodation:
A number of University-managed off-campus housing blocks, which are within walking distance from PolyU campus, are available for students to apply .
The Mainland and International Student Services Centre(MISS)under the Office of Student Development (OSD) will provide advisory services on finding an accommodation, including the provision of information related to rental and key points to note before signing a tenancy agreement.
Should you have anyenquiries, please do not hesitate to contact MISS at S208, CommunalBuilding or by phone 3400-2608 or emailmiss.info@polyu.edu.hk. Thank youfor your attention and understanding.
