Upcoming free TF2 and Portal avatars and Input delay on 0.78b
This updates has news about the following:
the okay from Valve - that we just received - for building free TF2 and Portal avatars for FaceRig (yaaay :D);
an input delay bug from the last update that affects streaming on TwitchTV ( booo :o) ;
upcoming DLC*s for Halloween (one free and one paid);
and upcoming Steam Workshop support ( yaaay again :) ).
About the TF2 & Portal themed avatars
We got a preliminary okay from an official Valve representative to build free avatars based on the TF2 characters and Portal. Hurraaaay :). Of course there are some conditions in regard to branding and we of course we will need their approval prior to each release, but overall thank you Valve, you are awesome :D. We will start building those once we are done with the Halloween stuff.
Note: The custom avatar rewards for the Trailblazer and Visionary contributors from the crowd-funding campaign are built in parallel, so they are not delayed by this :P.
About the Input bug when Streaming on Twitch
The update that we have pushed last week, with "hooked keys" meant to enable control of character swapping in FaceRig while playing a game, has as a side effect a delay of the keyboard input to that game.
If you want to use FaceRig while streaming on Twitch this week, we recommend you temporarily roll back to the "previousversion" branch. In the meantime we will investigate the issue and provide a a fix when we will go live with "nextversion" at the end of this week.
About the Halloween content
We currently plan to have two DLC*s released near Halloween, one with extra props (totally free) and one with five avatars (paid). The cost for the paid one will be $4.99 US dollars (you get all the five avatars for that), with slight variations in price in areas of the globe mainly because of taxes, such as VAT in Europe.
Note: the FaceRig Crowdfunding backers that have contributed for a perk including avatar packs, will get the codes for the Halloween avatar pack in their e-mail :)
