有两个句子请给分析下

1.The medical team did more than complain about the relatively poor working conditions at the local hospital.医疗队并没有一味抱怨当地医院较差的工作条件。
请问complain为何用动词原形，不用过去式或现在分词形式？
2.for the sake of the light it throws on modern knowledge.因为它会帮助人们看清现代知识的真实情况.
有个词组是throw light on使明白，但上面这句结构是怎样的？是正常语序吗？

    compain 和 more 相对应 more 是代词: 更多的事物
    it throws 是 the light 的定语从句,省略了引导词that/which

          这位仁兄，如果后面是定语从句，这句话就没有主句了
          这句话应该是直接省略了一个light。for the sake of light是状语。主句在后面

              for the sake of sth是短句没错，但是它完全省略了主句，只有for the sake of sth不构成任何意义，你依然需要还原到原来的意思里。
