阿诺里恩/Arnorien
Anórien means "Sun land" from Anor meaning "the Sun" and the ending -ien which is a variation of a commonly used suffix in the names of countries or regions. It was so named because it was originally the domain of Anarion. The Rohirrim called the region Sunlending.
阿诺里恩意思是太阳之地，Anor意为太阳，词尾的-ien是国家或者地区词尾的通用后缀。它这么命名是因为这里原来是阿纳里昂的领地。洛汗人叫它桑兰德。
梅灵溪/Mering Stream
The name Mering Stream means "boundary stream" from the Old English maere or mere meaning "boundary." The Sindarin name for the Mering Stream was Glanhír, also meaning "boundary stream" from glan meaning "boundary, border" and hir from sîr meaning "river, stream."
梅灵溪意思是边界河，来自古英语中maere或者mere意为边界。梅灵溪翻译成辛达语是格兰希尔，也是边界河的意思，glan意为边界，hir意为溪流。
埃多拉斯/Edoras
Edoras means "the Courts." In Old English, eoderas is the plural of eodor meaning "enclosure, precinct."
埃多拉斯的意思是宫殿。在古英语中，eodor的复数eoderas意思是（建筑物等的）外围，围墙之内。
圣盔谷（阿格拉隆德）/Helm’s   Deep（Aglarond）
Helm's Deep was named for Helm Hammerhand, who took refuge there. The word deep refers to the deep valley between the cliffs.

Before the time of Helm Hammerhand, the Rohirrim called the Hornburg the Súthburg. The name Súthburg means "southern fortress," because it guarded the southern side of the Gap of Rohan.

Also written as Firienwood. The full name was Halifirien Wood. The name Firien Wood comes from the Anglo-Saxon firgen-wudu, meaning "mountain wood." The full name Halifirien Wood means "holy mountain wood"; the element hal comes from hálig meaning "holy." It was also called   the Firienholt - where the word holt means "wood."

Also called the Forest of Druadan. Drúadan Forest was named after the Drúedain who lived there. The element Drû in Sindarin was derived from Drughu, the Drúedain's own name for themselves. The word adan means Man; the plural is edain. In Common Speech, Drúadan was loosely translated as "Wild Man."

石车谷/Stonewain
The name Stonewain   refers to the fact that wains - or wagons - carrying stone passed through the valley.
The Sindarin name was Imrath Gondraich. The word imrath means "long narrow valley with a road or water course." The word gond means "stone" and raich apparently meaning "wagons."
这个名字Stonewain实际上是指车运送石头穿越山谷。它的辛达语名字是Imrath Gondraich。单词imrath的意为长而狭窄的山谷、道路、溪流。单词gond意为石头，raich显然意为车。
阿蒙丁/Amon Din
Amon Dîn means "Silent Hill" from amon meaning "hill" and dîn meaning "silent." It may have been so named because it was isolated and uninhabited.

(Letter #297) There was also an ancient city in Mesopotamia called Erech, but Tolkien stated that any connection was unintentional and subconscious at best.
