Avril Lavigne has admitted that she cried for real in her recent music video.
The singer was seen becoming emotional in the promo for her current single 'Wish You Were Here' when it debuted earlier this month.
Lavigne told Billboard that her tears in the video were real.
"It's a song written about missing someone and looking back and remembering all the good times and all those awesome moments," she said.
"It's kind of raw, but also emotional. I cry in the video and that was something that I did on purpose, but it was something that was real."
Lavigne is currently in the UK and will play gigs at London's Hammersmith Apollo on September 21 and Manchester's Apollo on September 23.
Speaking about her current 'Black Star' tour, she explained: "I'm having the most fun I've ever had.
"Every night you have a different crowd. Some are more rowdy than others and you want to get their energy up and get them to have a good time."
