What buried tale of love ,bravery, treasure and treachery( 反叛 ), hidden by time and tragedy , waits here to be discovered ? A beautiful socialite( 社会名流 ), A penniless artist. A priceless diamond. A romance so passionate( 激昂的 )that nothing on earth could stop it .A destiny so incredible that no one could have imagined it. A collision of lives that could only have happened on Titanic, the ship of dreams. The secrets are about to unfold… Brock Lovett is a treasure hunter looking for a famous diamond among the debris( 碎片 )of the Titanic. He finds a sketch in a safe box in which a young woman is wearing the diamond on a necklace. After showing the drawing on a TV program, Rose Dawson, an old lady comes forward claiming to be the woman in the drawing. She is brought to the explorer's vessel to help them determine the location of the diamond, but instead she tells everyone the “real” story of Titanic's sinking. Rose was the descendant of aristocracy( 贵族 ), and her mother wanted her to marry a man with fame and money by taking advantage of their social class. She regarded it as the only way for them to maintain their status Rose was a girl possessing her own thoughts and beliefs. She wouldn't yield to her mother's demand?to marry Carl the man she didn't love. Once after quarreling with her mother, she ran to the desk, intending to commit suicide by jumping into the sea. There she met Jack Dawson, a free-spirited young artist and poor third-class passenger who had won his ticket by gambling and boarded the ship in the freezing water. Jack caught her hands tightly, saying, “You jump and I am going to have to jump after you”. He drew her back from the side of the titanic and what he said gave her hope to live on . They fell in love Rose became a happy girl again. She enjoyed dancing and laughing with the poor passengers in the third class. She was deeply attracted to jack's marvelous drawings and asked him to draw her nude, wearing only the “Heart of the Ocean” ,the diamond given by her fiancé as an engagement present .They made love in a car in the cargo hold . Jack ignited the unquenchable fires of passion within Rose. Unfortunately , Carl discovered the nude that Jack had drawn for Rose, and he framed( 陷害 ) Jack by charging him with stealing the diamond, so Jack was handcuffed( 用手铐铐上 ) in the base cabin. Then the ship struck a huge iceberg( 冰川 ). The ship began to sink rapidly. Seawater was being held, when Rose made her back and risked her life to rescue him with the firm belief in his innocence( 清白 ). After escaping from the cabin, they were again faced with choices. Jack persuaded Rose to board the lifeboat ahead of him regardless of Carl's pursuit for revenge( 报复 ). But later Rose jumped back on deck, unwilling to be separated from her true love, repeating Jack's saying, “You jump and I am going to jump after you”. |

楼 Jack and Rose went down with the sinking ship. When Rose become too cold to feel her body and expressed her farewell( 告别 ) love to Jack, the latter encouraged her in shivering voice, “Don't you do that. Don't you say your good-bye? Not yet… You're going to get out of here… You're going to make lots of babies and you're going to watch them grow. You're going to die an old…and old lady, warm in her bed. Not here. Not this night. Not like this… Winning that ticket, Rose, was the best thing that ever happened to me. It brought me to you. And I'm thankful. You must… You must do me this honor… You must promise me that you will survive… that you won't give up… no matter what happens… no matter how hopeless… Promise me now, Rose, and never let go of that promise. Never let go.” This is what we understand heroism, this is what we understand as noble, and this is what we understand as true love. With this Rose survived and lived a long life. For Rose, the experience with Jack aboard the Titanic left the memory of a happy time and a new start of her life. In filming Titanic, the director James Cameron did more than recreated a tragedy. He brought the past to life. A lot of scenes are memorable: those left on the decks were plunged into the freezing water; many bodies were floating on the surface; Titanic's band( 乐队 ), played on until the final moments… As James Cameron said, “The movie is like a time capsule( 小船 ). It has captured 1912, and what it was like to be on board an ocean line( 班轮 ) at that time. It is a time capsule that is opened up for all of us to see.” No wonder it won 11 Oscars! titanic台词精选 1.Outwardly, I was everything a well-brought up girl should be. 4楼 The great ship.Titanic, sailed for New York from Southampton on April 10th,1912.she was carrying 1316 passengers and a crew of 891. four days after setting out while the Titanic was sailing across the icy waters of the North Atlantic,a huge iceberg was suddenly spotted by a lookout.after the alarm had been givern.the great ship turned sharply to avoid a direct collision. The Tianic turned turned just in time .narrowly missing the immense wall of ice which rose over 100 feet out of the water beside her.Suddenly, there was a slight trembing sound from below, and the captain went down to see what had happend. The noise had been so faint that no one thought that the ship had been damaged.below, the captain realized to his horror that the Titanic was sinking rapidly, for five of her sixteen watertight compartments had already been flooded!the order to abandon ship was given and hundreds of people plunged into the icy water. As there were not enough lifeboats for everybody,1500 lives were lost. let's thinking about it. what would have happend if only two of the sixteen water-tight compartments had been flooded? |

楼 The Belfast City Council and Northern Ireland Tourist Board are consulting possibilities by way of a private contractor to build the museum on a planned plot of 185 acre , the museum itself could cost around the £110 million. The main private contractor, Titanic Quarter who controles prime estate in that area is looking on a few concepts, Chief executive Mike Smith says: "Our concept is to celebrate the Titanic's birth, as it were." One option would be to reconstruct the massive Arrol gantry, a steel cradle upon which the Titanic was constructed. However, Smith says a re-creation of the actual ship is unlikely. "Most people think that's not possible now, because all sorts of things have changed in terms of health and safety." The headquarters of Harland and Wolff will be converted into a four star hotel. |

楼 Titanic Assistant professor of mechanical engineering Thusneyapan Satjathip says his students are very proud of the model they created with Pro/ENGINEER. "Students here are fascinated with the story of the Titanic," he explains. "With Pro/ENGINEER, they were able to translate the images in their head into a solid model with more than 150 parts." Pro/ENGINEER enabled the students to design, assemble, and document a very complex model in a remarkably short time. Professor Satjathip adds, "Since we started using Pro/ENGINEER in 1994, we've been able to teach our students much more about CAM technology." |
