张若虚，唐代诗人。扬州(今属江苏)人。曾任兖州兵曹。生卒年、字号均不详。中宗神龙（705～707）中，与贺知章、贺朝、万齐融、邢巨、包融俱以文词俊秀驰名于京都。
《春江花月夜》本为乐府《清商曲辞-吴歌声曲》旧题，在若虚之前，仅存隋代杨广二首及诸葛颖一首，皆以风月之景写男女之情，表现出柔婉的情调和绮丽的风貌；即使后来者如张子容,温庭均,表现的也不过是吴越一带典型的南方文人杏花春雨江南的意境.
而张若虚以仅存的两首诗，站在唐代诗坛的顶峰，正是以其《春江花月夜 》在唐诗发展网络结构中所占的位置而定的。（闻一多先生称：“这是诗中的诗，顶峰的顶峰。”学者王铠运评：“李贺商隐挹其鲜润，宋词元诗尽其支流。”）。一篇诗得到如此高的赞誉，在中国文学史上是绝无仅有的。

她平静如水，明眸善睐；她轻柔如歌，使人心醉……


liken：常与to连用，表示“把……比做”的意思 were：were it not for
是典型的虚拟语气，它的另外一种形式是If it were not for，表示“如果
不是……”的意思。与事实相反，是一种假设的状况。其中的动词用过去时。

A British man has met and married a 22-year-old woman after, by his own account, dreaming of her phone number and then sending her a text message. 


David Brown, 24, says he woke up one morning after a night out with friends with a telephone number constantly running through his head. He decided to contact it, sending a message saying "Did I meet you last night?"


Random recipient Michelle Kitson was confused and wary at first but decided to reply and the two began exchanging messages. Eventually they met and fell in love.


"It was really weird but I was absolutely hooked," Kitson told the Daily Mail newspaper. "My mum and dad kept saying 'But he could be an axe murderer\', but I knew there was something special about it."

No friendship is useless and no day is in vain.






Just as God has a purpose for sunshine and rain.













All can be discouraged and everyone cries,






But we have friends to comfort us.






Beneath these cloudy skies.






All hearts can break… they’re fragile as glass






But with a friend beside us, this too shall pass.






 






Friends who are faithful are noble at heart,






You may be afar, but we will never be apart.

Two Dream Spinners

We spin webs of dreams, 

My friend and I, 

Castles in faraway countries, 

Turrets stretching into the sunrise. 

In our fevered imaginations 

Orchestras play, 

As honey-golden sunshine seeps 

through the blinds. 

Laughs fly from our mouths like startled birds, 



And our hands weave bright patterns 

in the air 

As we gesture and explain, 

Looking curiously, with a mix of wonder and fear, 

Into each other’s eyes, 

And delighting in the bright jewels we 

find there, 

In each other’s minds. 

And when we are apart, our letters fly, 

Like fat white birds 

Across the countryside.
